The NTS-PU is a safety breakaway coupling manufactured by ARTA, designed to prevent environmental damage and equipment failure during the transfer of hazardous liquids or gases.
Core Function
It acts as an emergency disconnect system that automatically triggers when it detects an unintentional axial tensile load (e.g., if a tanker truck or ship pulls away while still connected to the loading hose).
Key Features
Non-Destructive Separation: Unlike "breaking bolt" couplings that break permanently when triggered, the NTS-PU separates cleanly without damaging the components.
Instant Shut-Off: Upon separation, internal valves on both sides of the coupling close immediately, preventing any spill or leakage of the media.
90° Activation Range: It can trigger from various angles within a 90° range, providing flexibility if the tension isn't perfectly straight.
Easy Reassembly: Because the separation is non-destructive, the unit can be reassembled quickly on-site without special tools or replacement parts, minimizing downtime.
High Flow Efficiency: Optimized internal design ensures minimal pressure loss during normal operation.
